Abramelin Oil is an all purpose oil based on the formula outlined in the book of Abramelin the Mage, based on a Biblical formula. There has been some debate over the correct way to make it and substitutions. Some substitute Galangal for Calamus, but mine has no such substitution. The formula has been adapted from a Jewish Holy oil and translated from German and French texts, as well as adapted for use in magickal workings by Samuel Mathers and occultist Aleister Crowley. So, the formula has varied throughout the years, depending on the translation or purpose intended. Mine includes Olive oil and leaf, Cassia, Frankincense, Myrh, Calamus, and other ingredients traditional to the original formula.
